I realize that texting might be “old school” for many of you, but I am really just getting started. If you are like me and have used your phone to actually call people until now, you may not know about all the cool text services available - most of which are free! Stefanie recently told us about all the information you can get from Google on Your Phone. Here are a few other services that I have found:
Reminders: Try Oh don’t forget to schedule a text message reminder for you or your family. You can schedule them in advance!
Coupons: Text 2 Store will search for the best deals for the products that you are interested in and text the details. You can turn the alerts on or off.
News: MSNBC has a text service for national and regional news.
Gas prices: Shortly after you text gas@gasbuddy.com with your city and state or zip, you will get the five lowest gas prices for your area.
You might even be able to get text reminders for your doctor appointments. Some hospitals have seen the number of no-show patients reduced by 30% since they started using text message reminders. Ask the office staff if they offer this service. While most of these services are free, cellular phone service provider fees may apply. Have you found any helpful text services?
